PASTOR: SCOTT FERGUSON
Scott has been pastor of Westview Baptist Church since July 2001 Prior to becoming our pastor, he served the Thomasville Baptist Church in Thomasville, Alabama as the Associate Pastor for Discipleship and Evangelism. Reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing them discipled into fully devoted followers of Christ, along with missions remain Scott's passions.
Scott is a graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was a practicing veterinarian in Tennessee and Georgia for almost five years. During his days in veterinary practice, he knew that God was calling him to ministry in the local church. Resigning from his veterinary position in 1996, he enrolled in a "one of a kind" seminary-internship program developed by The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn, Alabama, his home church. For three years, Scott served as a full-time staff member while pursuing his Master of Divinity degree.
Scott has been married to the world's greatest wife, Jennifer, since 1990. He challenges them to make reading God's Word, praying, being part of a church family, and sharing your faith to be top priorities. God has gifted Shane in discipleship and he desires to let discipleship play a major role in seeing students grow in Christ. Shane loves to have fun and you never know what crazy things he will do. He loves having fun, but He understands that there has to be time to get serious and focus on God. Shane's heart is to reach students and live his life as an example before them.
